Culture & History

Our part of Småland has welcomed travellers and visitors for several hundred years. Our district coat of arms uses the old map sign for an inn. The large river Nissan runs across the district and has served as a communication route and lifeblood throughout history. Along the Nissan valley also runs a road called Nissastigen, which has been used by hikers and riders since time immemorial and which still plays an important role for the district. Along these centuries-old waterways, an exciting culture and history has emerged that we are very proud of and are happy to show off to our visitors.
